Pastor Timothy Butler

Discipleship Pastor

Tim has served as Grace's Discipleship Pastor since March 2012; prior to that, he served as a Presbytery intern at Grace for two years. He has also previously served as the University Chaplain of Lindenwood University, where he taught a variety of classes and created “the Chaplain's Office,” which reintroduced chapel services and other ministry events at the university. Before entering pastoral ministry, Tim spent a decade as a writer and was editor-in-chief of the online magazine Open for Business.

Tim grew up in the St. Louis area.  He attended Lindenwood University in St. Charles where he earned a B.A. in English Literature, Religious Studies, and Philosophy.  In 2007, he began studies at Covenant Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity degree in December of 2010.  Presently, Tim is pursuing a Ph.D. in Reformation Studies at Concordia Seminary in Clayton, MO.  Tim served as a Presbytery Intern at Grace from April 2010 through October 2011 and was ordained as Grace’s Discipleship Pastor in March 2012.

Tim enjoys photography, discussions around literature, good food and cheesy humor. You can find out more about him and follow his blog at TimothyRButler.com; you can also catch him on Twitter @trbutler.
